In order to ensure the safety of all persons attending the event, the following rules regarding weapons or cosplay weapons and cosplay accessories have been established.
These rules will be monitored and enforced by our security staff (recognizable by their orange high-visibility vests and yellow T-shirts).

The following items are prohibited on the AniNite site:
- Items that are prohibited under Austrian law.
- Pyrotechnics (e.g. firecrackers, fireworks, etc.)
- Objects that are classified as dangerous by security due to their design or characteristics (e.g. sharpened broomsticks, space-intensive cosplay structures)
- Objects for personal and animal defense (stun guns, pepper spray, etc.)
- Cosplay weapons made of full metal (swords, axes, etc… / sharp and blunt)
Partially approved items (will be checked and marked as approved by us):
- Objects in which metal or hardwood is partially processed are examined individually.
- Objects longer than 2 meters MAY be removed if they are incompatible with the design of the location or pose a safety risk to other visitors.
- Soft air weapons are only permitted without ammunition and with appropriate identification (random checks can be carried out by security staff at any time).
Permitted items:
- LARP and other weapons made of the following (but not limited to) material
- Foam
- Styrofoam
- Cardboard
- Worbla
- Bagpipes (depending on playing experience). The musical taste of the head of operations or the project leader serves as a guideline (see footnote 1)
- All objects that do not violate the above guidelines and do not pose a hazard.
These items are also checked at the entrance.
It is up to the security staff to decide what is to be classified as dangerous.
The instructions of the security staff must be strictly followed.
As we do not want to prohibit anyone from wearing parts of their costume or necessary tools, but are responsible for ensuring that neither persons nor property are harmed, security is authorized to assess the actual danger of such items and either prohibit, approve or impose conditions on the further carrying of such items.
If a requirement is not complied with, a warning will be issued the first time.
In the event of a second violation, the item will be confiscated and can be collected from the entrance area when leaving the event or when used for a cosplay performance (in consultation with the cosplay jury, see below).
If the breach of the conditions constitutes a serious risk, immediate exclusion from the event may be imposed without a further warning.
Should an unauthorized or illegal item find its way onto the premises, it will be seized immediately and, if necessary, the owner will be expelled from the premises.
Every illegal act will be reported to the police!
If items are misused or used in a dangerous manner on the AniNite site, security will seize the item.
In the case of objects that may not be removed or accepted by security (e.g. live firearms, non-free pyrotechnics, etc.), access to the grounds will be denied in the case of legal possession (person with a weapons pass, pyrotechnician); in the case of illegal possession, the police will be informed (illegal possession of weapons).
In this case, the security personnel are authorized to stop the person until the police arrive (right to stop).
For cosplay competitions / show performances:
Items that are not permitted must be handed in at the entrance. If these are required for a cosplay performance / show group, this MUST be reported to security AND the cosplay jury! Otherwise they may not be available for the performance!
We ask you to handle the objects as carefully as possible, as not only the equipment can be damaged or other people injured, but also you yourself!
Thank you for your understanding!
With best regards!
Your Security Team
Footnote 1: The item “bagpipes” in the list of permitted items is exemplary proof that the AniNite security officers have not lost their sense of humor after long discussions about the weapons rules. This deliberately humorous insertion does NOT invalidate the seriousness and validity of all other rules.
